After a couple days of rain Sherm, Jenna, and I headed down to Manhattan beach for the afternoon. The waves were pretty much perfect, but because it rained the water was full of bacteria from runoff out of the city. The brave souls who gambled with their health were treated to some of the best waves the South Bay has seen in quite a while. The amble wasn't worth it to us, so we did the next best thing and shot photos from the pier.

Nice shots Matty,
It's awfully hard to stay out of the water when its nasty dirty, but you gotta weight the benefits... Ive had friends with staph infections and gnar sinus & ear infections after a quick post rain surf in Hermosa. I used to not worry too much if the waves were good, it was late in the winter, and it had been raining alot. Its the FIRST few storms you really gotta worry about, the "first flush"
