09/10 Shred Season recap

09/10 Shred Season Recap from drew dizzle on Vimeo.

Overall, 09/10 was damn good snowboard season. I was back to being a weekend warrior, but still managed to get 33 days in. (Mt. Hood has insanely long seasons, and 100+ inches the first two weeks of April definitely helped.)

Thanks to furlough days from my struggling company, I was able to make opening day on November 11. Friend of Board of America and original 603 loc, Ryan Schelling, was in town and the gods blessed us with a 12'+ of blower and bukake fusion turns were had by all.

The snow fell through the new year but started to dry up mid-January. Fortunately, I had planned a brief Tahoe trip for the end of January. Up to that point, Tahoe was pretty much dry. Snow or not, I was stoked to get back and see some old friends but the night I flew in, my flight was delayed 3 hours because of snow in Reno. The first clip in the video is from the night I flew in. It proceed to dump for the next 5 days.

The snow in Oregon returned at the end of February and proceed to continue through mid-April. The season ended on May 16 and Sherman and I closed Meadows down. The main lift stopped turning as we cruised by it on the way to the car and the cold road sodas waiting for us. A fitting end to the 6 month season...

So after all that, I could barely scrape together a minute and a half of footy to document it. It's far from great, but fun nonetheless. Enjoy...
